Aklan Masonic Center Renovation

December 17th, 2011

The Aklan Masonic Center is the home of the Freemasons of Aklan. It is where we regularly assemble and practice Freemasonry as authorized by the Grand Lodge. To most of us, it is where we first literally knocked on its door to see the light by being initiated, passed and raised as we pursue for more enlightenment and to develop that higher standard of character as a Mason. To the uninitiated and the passers by, it is the church of the well to do (simbahan ng mga mayayaman).

It was built and established particularly by the Brethren of Aklan Lodge #205 together with a dream and vision that this Lodge will continue to sustain and flourish to become the hallmark of Freemasonry in this province.

As time goes by and as we grow, another Lodge was born, the XIX Martyrs Lodge #342 that also continues to share the use of this Masonic Center. Fate has it that we are challenged by the degradation and particularly that typhoon Frank that caused the total collapsed of the building. with the help of the Grand Lodge, friends and Brethren from other Lodges and more especially the Brethren of both Lodges, we were able to rebuild the Aklan Masonic Center. Although it is somewhat slow due to some financial difficulties, we are able to reconstruct the building and even pay the real tax arrears.

Just recently, WB George Rovero, the Master of Aklan Lodge #205, who is in charge of the works, has completed another phase of its development. There is still a lot of work for us to do to complete a more presentable building where we can have our stated meetings and can be proud of.

Our effort now should again focus on how to raise funds to continue the works.

Brethren, “nothing is impossible to a willing heart”. If every Brother should share this dream and all of us should work on it, we will definitely make it. Remember. “Time, Patience and Perseverance will accomplish all things.”
